Java Plum

Commonly known as Jamun, in India. It reaches a height of upto 98ft and it can live more than 100 years. Its wood has major use in railway sleepers and to install motors in wells. The Fruit has a sweet, sour and slightly acidic flavor. The fruit has 83% water, 16% carbohydrates, 1% protein and negligible Fat. It has vitamin C content and provides 60 calories. It has some cultural and religious significance beliefs related to Hindu Mythology.
