Papaya

The papaya is a small, sparsely branched tree, usually with a single stem growing from 15 to 35 ft tall, with spirally arranged leaves confined to the top of the trunk. The leaves are large with seven lobes. Two kinds of papayas are commonly grown. One has sweet, red or orange flesh, and the other has yellow flesh.  It can be eaten both cooked and raw. In some parts of Asia, papaya leaves are used as a medicinal benefit for Sugar patients. Young leaves are also steamed and eaten as spinach in a few parts of Asia.
